July, August and September
The last time I wrote here was on June 24th, the day I sent in my proposal.
Although I don’t remember exactly what I was doing after that date, I do know that on July 31st, I received the call I had been waiting for, even though a part of me (the part that still hasn’t been fully worked on) was afraid to receive it. They called me from SiempreArteCR. My proposal had been selected. Officially, I will have my first solo exhibition in January 2027.
And a day before that, or maybe two, an email from Liliana, from Museo Francisco Cossío in SLP, Mexico, confirmed that my work had been selected for their group exhibition. Those were some really happy and blessed days.
Now, somewhere between the happiness of a phone call and an email, came something I already knew would happen: “You need to produce more work.”
And with that came an absurd amount of stress trying to plan my next pieces, all while organizing a trip to Mexico to present my work “Inercia” in San Luis Potosí.
But well, I made it. Or almost.
Why "July, August and September" as the title?
In July, I painted and waited.
In August, I painted, traveled, exhibited, and exposed myself.
In September, I painted, had my birthday, painted again, got stressed, painted again, and sat down to write.
In four days, the month will be over. I have to keep painting. See you later.
